Lire 1.3 is released

The LogReport team is pleased to announce the release of Lire 1.3,
which is available from http://download.logreport.org/pub/.

The major new features and improvements are:

- New configuration tool which makes it much easier to configure Lire.
- User contributed DLF converters: snort, tinydns (for djbdns logs),
  fw1_lea (for Check Point FireWall-1 NG logs), tinydns (for djbdns
  logs) and s1ms (for SunONE Messaging Server SMTP logs).  Thanks to
  Christopher Boumenot, Torsten Fellhauer and Jean-Yves Monnier
- Major upgrade to Lire internals. This result in new and drastically
  improved DLF converter and configuration APIs.
- Tutorial and example on how to write new DLF converters, using the new
  APIs.
- Plus several bug fixes.

We'd especially like to thank everyone who contributed code, bug fixes
or suggestions and thus helped making Lire 1.3 a better release.

Be aware that Lire 1.3 has a new configuration file format: you will
need to migrate your old configuration. Be sure to read the NEWS file
for upgrade instructions.

RPMS for the Lire 1.3 release are available for three distributions:

Mandrake 9.0:

Red Hat 8.0:
http://apt.logreport.org/pub/rpm/redhat/8.0/RPMS.lire

Red Hat 7.3:

Also, it is now possible to install/upgrade Lire RPMS using apt-rpm
or urpmi. Consult http://apt.logreport.org/pub/rpm/README.txt
for all the details.
