Announcing Lire 2.0rc1

We are please to announce that Lire 2.0rc1 is available from

  http://www.logreport.org/pub/lire.2.0rc1.tar.gz

This is a pre-release of Lire 2.0. It has only been tested on Debian unstable 
but it should work on other UNIX platforms without too much trouble. The 
final 2.0 release should come out later this week after documentation updates 
and some testing on Solaris and Fedora Core. Users using other platforms 
should try it out and report bugs to the questions at logreport.org mailing 
list.

The main new features of Lire 2.0 are :

- New HTML and PDF output formats which do not require DocBook. The
  layouts is also much better.
- Report configurations can be edited through the lire(1) command. 
- Charts are much more configurable and their specification can be
  edited through the lire(1) command.
- New perl implementation of the lr_log2report, lr_xml2mail, lr_log2mail
  and lr_xml2report commands They have an improved user interface and
  have much less overhead than their previous implementations.
- New APIs: Lire::Plugin, Lire::DlfAnalyser, Lire::OutputFormat.
- Many bug fixes.

Read the NEWS file for all the details. 

Back up your previous configuration ($HOME/.lire) and your DlfStores before
using 2.0rc1 because lire-1.5 won't be able to read your new configuration 
afterwards.
