Proposal for module dependencies

Hi,

I've got an idea to reduce somewhat the burden of various CPAN modules
dependencies, so that we can improve code reuse.

CPAN module are really easy to install and depencies are easy to compute
for GNU/Linux system (RedHat, Mandrake, GNU/Debian, SuSE, etc.)

The problem is really for the FreeBSD, Solaris and OpenBSD folks. Even
there the CPAN shell works seamlessy. Joost talk more about the
"cultural resistance" of Solaris administrator to install fancy stuff.

What we can do is include in a special distribution all needed modules.
configure could check for their presence in the system and otherwise
install it for LIRE private use. This is what MiniVend
(now Akopia Interchange) was doing.

This would only a convenience distribution. It would ease the dependencies
requirements and would permit to use the wonderful goods of CPAN rather than
develop half-baked replacement.
