Sounds very interesting.  You'd like to ship a lire-only.tar.gz and a
lire-plus-all-needed-cpan-stuff.tar.gz?  We'd have to adapt our build
environment for this.  Currently, only GD::Graph is needed.

Maybe we'd better first concentrate on getting the dlf query interface
right, and only after that focus on relyably detecting dependencies.
