Thanks a lot!  Wessel Dankers tested too, with similar good results.  I
uploaded the package to Debian, but it got rejected due to problems with
the source tarball md5sums.  I'm investigating this now; and I really
hope I'm fast enough to make it before the deadline for uploads to the
next stable Debian release.  Let's keep our fingers crossed...
