If all is well there should be a file called
"/usr/share/lire/defaults/lire.xml".
This file should contain a line like this:

    <param name="xsltproc_path">/usr/bin/xsltproc</param>

Could you verify that this line exists and that the file it references does
in fact exist on your system?
