Could you submit a bug report to the Debian bug tracking system? Since
this is a packaging problem and not a problem of lire per se, it's a
good idea to advise the package maintainer.
Meanwhile, a preliminary fixed package is available from
http://organact.mine.nu/wolfgang/lire_1.4-2.1_all.deb
It should soon be uploaded to the debian archive but could not since,
as you probably know, the Debian servers were unavailable for two weeks.
