The "bogus message" are the result of running the lr_log2report command under 
lr_run. This isn't necessary any more.

Did you install the tetex-latex and tetex-dvips  packages from your 
distribution ? It isn't listed as a dependency in the RPM file but it is 
required for PDF ouput.
