	Well, I'm the former comp.mail.sendmail FAQ maintainer, and I 
don't think that entry has changed much since I created it back 
around something like 1996.  I think I'm also the maintainer of most 
of the current versions of the sendmail syslog parsing programs, and 
I can most definitely tell you that there's nothing like lire that I 
know of for parsing sendmail syslogs.

	There is a utility for parsing the syslog output from 
postfix, but I haven't done much of anything with it recently.  The 
last time I had anything to do with it, it produced output that was a 
lot cleaner and nicer (and more detailed) than what lire (then 
logreport) produced, but I'm sure that a lot of advancements have 
since been made.
