Empty report

Hi.

I just installed LIRE on a RH Linux 7.2 by using the latest tarball. I need 
it to analyze my sendmail logs. I've created a lire user and the 
installation process was ok but when i generate the report (the maillog 
file has 2 days worth of logging) by using the following command

lr_run lr_log2report /tmp/err email sendmail common < /var/log/maillog > 
report.txt

the report.txt comes out like this:

   Deliveries Attempts By 1h Period


   Volume Delivered By 1h Period

Note

    One email delivered to multiple destinations will be
    accounted for multiple times. For example, one 1K
    email sent to two recipients will count for 2K of
    volume.


   Failed Deliveries By Relay

    Note: Only printed is the first word of the stat=
    field. Therefore:

    service
           means service unavailable

    user
           means user unknown

    host
           means host unknown

    data
           means data format error

    remote
           means remote protocol error

    can't
           means can't create output

Notice the period covered: 1970 through 1970 ?!? And no useful data whatsoever.
I was using an older version of LIRE and it worked ok but i can't figure 
out this one. What am i doing wrong ?
