I can't determine the problem from this. The steps you describe seems
ok. Try setting DEBUG=1 into <prefix>/etc/lire/defaults.local, this will make
lire logs more information, I will probably be able to make a better
diagnostic based on that output.
Another question is: did you install over your previous installation ?
If so, did you run make uninstall from the previous source tree before ?
(I'm not sure we tested make install over a previous version withouth
make uninstalling it).
Since you're running a RPM system, I would also suggest you try out our
RPMs which you can find at http://www.logreport.org/pub/rpm
If you can access IRC, I'm the #logreport channel all day today on the
OpenProjects network (irc.openprojects.net). And you can often find a helpful
logreporter there to help you. Don't hesitate to join in!
