That could be fixed easily by using perl's glob() on the $log value in
the new lr_cron.

Unfortunately, not that much. The new lr_store command is the primitive
operation around which specific archival scenario could be built. But in
the 1.3 release, it's just that: a primitive. So it's not a real gain
from your mkdir and cp in a custom a shell scripts.

We lacked the time to develop a UI to it intergrated to lr_config.
