INSTALL instructions to access man pages in a transparent way do not appear to work on Solaris 9

Hi,

The instructions provided to included Lire man files transparently do not
appear to work.

isbld2br>man ls
No manual entry for ls.

The 'man lr_config' works fine but 'man ls' as well as other manual
commands become disabled.  As a work around, I use 'man -M $HOME/local/man
lr_config' in order not to disable my other man pages.
