It looks to me like you are suffering from at least two problems:
(1) Your syslog format (including a year) is not handled by the currently
    released version of the Lire::Syslog module
    A comparable problem is described here:
	http://logreport.org/contact/lists/questions/msg00722.php
    You can probably work around this issue by massaging your logfile
    records to match one of the supported patterns.

(2) The "checking message" lines are not handled by the currently
    released version of spamassassin2dlf
