Judging from the feedback we receive, the Lire software is still used
by a considerable number of sites (although it is impossible to quantify
how many), and continues to be discovered by new users.

It is unfortunate that we've had to discontinue the on-line responder
service earlier this year, due to a dying server and lack of new machine
resources, but it also showed a continuing interest in the software.

Maintenance is somewhat limited at the moment, but a few volunteers are
still committing fixes to the CVS repository from time to time. I'd expect
this to result in a new point release eventually. Drastic changes are
not envisaged as far as I can see. But if you have suggestions or
contributions to make, please post them to the appropriate list(s)!

Regards,
